Shenyang Bars & Restaurants

Shenyang has a variety of places to go, some good for relaxing & enjoying a few drinks, others for dancing & clubbing, and even a few for more exotic entertainment.

Sophie’s World Bar (shenhe qu ba wei lu, 51 hao), popular among the expat crowd, generally starts out with the usual Chinese pop music, but just ask, and they’ll switch over to something a bit more eclectic, from adult alternative to rock music.

Strollers (50 Meters north of the Royal Hotel) is another popular expat bar, playing big-screen sports. One of the more notable things about Strollers is that if it's your 2nd time there, your waitress will tend to remember your name. Just be sure to remember hers!

The Traders Café (68 Zhong Hua Road, Shenyang, 110001 China), inside the Traders Hotel is full of American & European dishes. Texas-style steaks, pasta & salad are served up for lunch & dinner, and the restaurant itself offers an excellent view of Shenyang.

The Lao Bian Dumpling Restaurant (57 Beishi Yi Street) dates back more than 170 years, and is most notable for serving Shenyang’s best jiaozis (dumplings). While the décor lacks in ambiance, the food more than makes up for it.
