Qibao Ancient Town

Qibao is an ancient town with small waterways and plenty of souvenir shops lining its sides. Inside it are old-style buildings, houses, shops & traditional restaurants. From a travel standpoint, prices are average for both the traditional food & souvenirs.

Inside you'll find the old Qibao Distillery as well as the temple. Both are worth a look. Despite it's rather out-of-the-way location, Qibao overall makes a decent day-trip in Shanghai. One warning though... it gets crowded during the weekends.

How to get there:
By Subway and Bus: Take Line 1 to Xinzhuang station (莘庄站), then walk 200m to the intersection of the Humin Road (沪闵路) and Qixin Road (七莘路). Find Bus 91 toward Beixinjing direction (北新泾) and exit at the Qibao Zhen station (七宝镇). Walk eastwards 250m to the entrance of Qibao town.

By Taxi: From Xinzhuang station (around 20 Yuan) or the city center (around 70 Yuan). Tell the driver, "Qibao (七莘)".
